The FNS-route is a different one every week. We combine the busy city-center with more quiet parts, ultra-smooth asphalt with occasional bumpy cobbles. This sometimes means sprinting ahead and sometimes waving at stunned tourists and other pedestrians. One thing is always the same, however: you skate to places you might never go on your own. Its unique. Click on the date above and you’ll see the route we’ll take this Friday!
You'll find most of the FNS routes on www.afstandmeten.nl. A site using Google Maps.
Turn on the lights!
The routes go wherever there are enough streetlights. Nevertheless a skater is always in danger of being overseen by other traffic partcipents. And every FNS at least ends in the dark. Make sure you are well visible by using lights. On your skates, on your arms, on your helmet, anywhere... Be safe, be seen! |

In 2010 the Amsterdam FNS organizes 7 specials: skates with a slower pace and with the inspiring music of DJ Edwin B.

And after a succesful try out in 2009 there will also be three Sunday Afternoon Skates again in our regular speed. Skate through Amsterdam while enjoying the sun and experience the famous Vondelpark for your after skate. Dates for these three skates are June 20, July 18 and September 19. Starting time will be 13.00hrs, in the Vondelpark. |
